Funding & Partnerships
While CPF BC & Yukon Socio-Cultural Grants can be used to cover half of the expenses for a Chapter-led event, that’s not to say that Chapters need to dig into their own pockets to find the rest.
Around B.C. & Yukon, Chapter volunteers have found more grants from government and community associations, and have leveraged good relationships with local francophone associations, school PACs to put on great events for their students.

ArtStarts
ArtStarts in Schools is a charitable organization that expands the role of art in education to activate learning and nurture creativity in British Columbia’s young people.
BC Gaming Grants
Gaming grants are awarded through the provincial government (specifically, the ministry of Community, Sport and Cultural Development—Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch.)
There are three types of BC Gaming Grants to apply for: Community, PAC/DPAC, and Capital Project Grants. The type of gaming grant most applicable to CPF Chapters is “Community.”
BC Arts Council
The BC Arts Council has programs that encourage innovation, support regional initiatives, touring, training and sustainability.
B.C. Francophone Affairs Program (FAP)
The B.C. Francophone Affairs Program (FAP) supports programs and services in French for approximately 70,000 Francophones and 300,000 Francophiles in B.C. to ensure our French-speaking community has access to information it needs.
Francophone Funding Opportunities
The Francophone Affairs Program supports the planning and delivery of French language government services as well as initiatives implemented by non-profit organizations that address the needs of French-speaking British Columbians.
There are three different ways organizations can access funding:
1. Provincial funding for French language services
The provincial funding for French language services supports Francophone and Francophile non-profit organizations with the implementation of initiatives that will improve the lives of French-speaking British Columbians.
2. Canada-B.C. Funding Partnership on French Language Services
The Canada – B.C. Agreement on French Language Services (PDF) supports the planning and delivery of French language government services for the B.C. Francophone community. Eligible projects must have a matching contribution from a provincial ministry, Crown Corporation, government agency or municipality worth at least 50% of the project’s French component.
3. B.C. – Quebec Cooperation Agreement Funding
Through the B.C. – Quebec Agreement on Cooperation and Exchange with respect to the Francophonie (PDF), eligible non-profit organisations may apply to the Programme de coopération intergouvernementale (PCI) for funding to implement an initiative developed in collaboration with an organization in Quebec.
Columbia Basin Trust
Columbia Basin Trust supports the ideas and efforts of the people in the Columbia Basin. The Trust supports efforts by the people of the Basin to create a legacy of social, economic and environmental well-being and to achieve greater self-sufficiency for present and future generations.
Community Cultural Action Fund
The Community Cultural Action Fund supports and strengthens the cultural, artistic and heritage expressions of official-language minority communities. Funding is typically provided to organizations in the form of contributions or grants.
