Here are some helpful resources for Chapter executives. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, or if you need a bit more help, please contact us.

Chapter Policies

  • Our chapter policies are currently under review. For now, we encourage you to use our handy quick “Cole’s Notes” version of our old chapter manual for reference. We will notify chapters when new policies are available!

How to run a CPF Chapter Annual General Meeting

  • This document is your go-to guide for how what you need to do to have a successful Chapter AGM. Under COVID-19, we are encouraging Chapters to host their AGMs virtually this spring, or hold off until the fall.

Concours Certificates

School and district Concours participant certificates are available with your Chapter’s branding. Please email outreach@cpf.bc.ca to request more details.

Recognition Certificates

We are in the process of updating our editable Recognition Certificate templates (for French Immersion graduation events etc.) with the new CPF logos. Check back for more versions over the next little while.

  • Version 1: click here to download
This is an editable Word document. Add your chapter name under the branch name, add date, school name and district.  Scans of CPF executive’s signatures and school logos may also be added.

French Advisory Committees

Have you heard about French Advisory Committees? The district FAC meets periodically to provide input and feedback regarding the development and implementation of French programs and initiatives.

The French Advisory Committee Guide outlines what a FAC is, recommends objectives and answers operational questions such as stakeholder involvement and the scope of oversight. It also summaries what the Federal French Funding Guide is, and how it relates to French second language learning in your school district, and the breakdown of federal funding allocated to each BC school district.

Host an Info Night

Tips on hosting a French Immersion Information Night

The following are some suggestions for CPF chapters to use in at events such as information fairs at school, at the district level, at Francophone events, etc.

  1. CPF brochures and promotional posters – available to order from CPF National’s website.
  2. Display board of photos of your chapter’s FI activities (Concours; French Camp; French Film Festival, Carnaval d’hiver, etc.)
  3. Students from the FI program who can speak about their FI experience
  4. If possible, have videos profiles from CPF BC & Yukon’s “Where Are They Now” project playing on a monitor while people are arriving.
  5. Chapter executive members, especially school reps for the entry level(s) your district offers. CPF executive members should wear name tags so they are easily recognized.
  6. Prepare a sign-in sheet, sign-up sheet (available below) or evaluation sheet for parents so you can follow up with them afterward.
  7. Share social media links to branch & national Facebook/Twitter accounts, and your chapter’s social media accounts if available
  8. If possible, arrange for coffee/tea/water/cookies and some scrap paper and markers, especially if children will be at the meeting.
  9. Also beneficial would be short presentations by FI teachers (i.e. a day in the life of FI Kindergarten; Q & A for Middle School, Secondary) and students (a face to the program).
  10. A School Board representative could mention how Early and French Immersion programs works, what help is available along the way, what grads will graduate with, etc.
  11. The CPF President could talk about how French funding works, what the chapter can do to support parents and teachers, what the chapter offers (Concours, events, resources etc.) and how to become a member (see below for tips, templates and other documents).
  12. You can also print out and display useful French Immersion fact sheets.
