Join us on Zoom from March 22 to 26, 2021, for a virtual Spring Break French Camp!

Register today to receive daily email blasts during the Virtual French Spring Break Camp to stay up-to-date on the day’s schedule, contests and more! Some sessions, such as the Cooking Class and the Storytelling Workshop on Friday, March 26, require pre-registration, so sign-up today!

How Camp will Work

Step 1 | Read over the week’s schedule to figure out what activities your child or family can enjoy.

Step 2 | Register now to receive daily updates and reserve your child’s place in limited-availability sessions.

Step 3 | Check you email after 7 p.m. PDT, starting Sunday evening, to receive Zoom links for the next day’s events, contest opportunities and more.

Step 4 | If you like, please share photos or thoughts of your child’s experience with on social media!

Camp Schedule

9 a.m. | Zumba

  • Start your morning right and join instructor Ximena Londono for a French-language Zumba session! Sessions on March 22, 24 and 26 are tailored for students 10 and up, but all are welcome!
    • If possible, students should have the following items with them
      • A water bottle 
      • Comfortable shoes and clothes for jumping and dancing 
      • Make space in your house so that you can move freely (the space doesn’t have to be big, but it must be clear so that you can have fun) 
      • Your coolest dance steps: the ones you learned on Tic Toc or the ones you created yourself 
      • 2 pieces of square fabric (the length of your arm) OR 2 t-shirts  
      • 2 cans or plastic bottles, a little rice or dry lentils and tape 
      • A lot of energy to spend!

10 a.m. | Fort Langley Tour (Sr.)

  • Take a guided tour with a park interpreter through the Fort Langley National Historic Site en français!
  • Pre-registration is required. This session is geared for students between Grades 6 to 12.

11 a.m. | Interactive Story Time

  • Storyteller (Conteuse) Ingrid Brousillon takes children on a 30-minute journey to a mystical land of witches and magic, while asking children to participate along the way.
  • Pre-registration is required for this session, which is geared for students between Kindergarten and Grade 3.
  • Students are encouraged to have drawing supplies with them, to play along with Ingrid.

1 p.m. | Concours virtuel – tips and tricks!

  • Concours virtuel participants can attend this Q & A session with experts on the contest to learn editing tips for videos and to find inspiration for their 2021 submissions. Learn more about Concours virtuel here

  • Join in a sing-along with beloved children’s entertainer Charlotte Diamond for a concert full of fan-favourites, such as “Je suis un pizza” and many more! No registration required.
    • Students are encouraged to sing along with their stuffed animals, musical shakers, puppets and any other props they wish to bring!

1 p.m. | Kahoot! Primary Trivia

  • Trivia extraordinaire and online educator Glenn Cake will challenge your knowledge with Canadian winter-themed trivia.
  • Winners will receive cozy prizes: CPF fleece jackets and tuques!
  • Primary trivia is suitable for students in Kindergarten to Grade 5. 
  • No pre-registration required.

2 p.m. | Kahoot! Secondary Trivia

  • Glenn Cake will challenge your knowledge with Canadian winter-themed trivia.

11 a.m. | Cooking Class

  • Families can cook along with a professional chef and learn how to make tartelettes aux framboises!
  • There is no age restriction for this session, but parental supervision is heavily recommended for younger children.

  • Storyteller Ingrid Brousillon invites 20 students to join her to learn all about how to craft and deliver a story to a captive audience.
